Managed Single-User Service

Under the Managed Service option, SelectNet provides the DSL modem for a regular monthly fee and provides ongoing management and repair. It is not necessary to purchase the modem at time of installation. Managed single-user service specifically includes:

  • DSL service managed up to the LAN port on the DSL modem.
  • Rental of the DSL modem.
  • Remote configuration of the DSL modem.
  • Free repair or replacement in the case of modem failure.
  • Free software upgrades to the DSL modem.
  • No field technician site visit repair charges (after initial installation).
  • Note: The customer is always responsible for their own PC configuration.

Special Notes:


(1) One dynamically assigned IP address is provided with single user service.
(2) Initial service period is 12 months from the actual network activation date. SelectNet accepts MasterCard, Visa, AmEx or check for payment. Please read the "Terms and Conditions" on this Web site plus the "Special Provisions" on the DSL Order Form for further information.
(3) Certain additional charges will apply if the customer needs to move the AT&T DSL to a new location, downgrade its service, or (for unmanaged services) if the customer requires a service repair. Please consult the DSL Contract Terms and Conditions for more detail.
(4) The actual bandwidth that can be delivered over a DSL capable loop cannot be determined until the time of service installation and as a result may differ from the bandwidth you order. This is due to the length and technical transmission characteristics of the DSL capable loop used to provide service to your location.
(5) The provisioning of service is contingent upon the availability of DSL capable local loops from the ILEC (Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier) to your location. If no DSL capable loop is available, then service will not be provisioned. If delivery of DSL capable loops from the ILEC is delayed, then service provisioning may be delayed.

Satisfaction Guarantee

You may cancel your Service (without penalty) during the first 30 days following the Actual Network Activation Date (ANAD) if you are not satisfied for any reason. After the first month, a termination charge will apply. The termination charge will at a minimum consist of $200.00 or the remaining monthly service fee for the initial service period, whichever is less. No matter when you terminate service, you will be responsible for payment of all charges incurred prior to termination. Certain additional terms and conditions apply. Self Install Requirements

Self Installation allows you to install your DSL service within your business or home without requiring a visit from a professional installer. It can save you money and get your DSL service operating earlier. Self Installation is only applicable to the 608/128 and 1.5/384 single-user services and is subject to certain qualification rules. Regardless of whether you choose this option, you will receive your DSL customer premises equipment via an overnight mail carrier. That package will contain detailed instructions on how to install your DSL modem and connect it to an Ethernet ready port on your computer. It will also contain a toll-free number to provide help for installation related questions. In order to qualify for self installation you may not have monitoring devices on the phone line used for the DSL service and you may not have more than 5 active phone jacks. You must also indicate you agree with the self-installation terms and conditions on the DSL Order Form, including agreeing to pay the installation charge should professional installation be required. Please note that our billing will start once we detect traffic on the line or seven days from shipping the kit whichever is earlier.
