How to Play / Winner
Selection / Prizes
This is a game of skill.
The object of the contest is to select one (1) horse that will officially finish
first in a race of the entrant’s choice from each day of Retama Park's 2009 fall thoroughbred meet contest period
which is September 24, 2009 through November 7, 2009. You
may register after the start of the contest, however, you will be at a
disadvantage having missed one or more days. For this contest, official race
results will serve as the order of finish.
The goal of contest is to
select one horse from each day of Retama Park’s contest period to finish first.
The handicapper who picks the most winners will win the contest. In the event
of a tie for the number of winners picked, the entrant whose winning selections’
win prices add up to the highest total amount of money will win. In the event
there is a tie for both number of wins and money total, the prize money will be
divided by adding the prize amounts for the positions involved in the tie and
distributing equally among the tied entrants. For example, if there is a
two-way tie for first place, each of the contestants will receive
($1000+$300) / 2 = $650.
Prizes are as follows: 1st -$1,000; 2nd - $300; 3rd
- $100
-
Deadline for making daily selections is 6:15 p.m. CST
for that night's races. See Racing Calendar above for race dates.
Selections may be made after 7:00 p.m. CST the day before race day. Standings
will be updated the morning after a racing card and should be available by
10:00 a.m. CST.
-
You may change your selection as many times as you
like up to the deadline.
-
If a selection is scratched or declared a non-starter
for pari-mutuel purposes, you receive the actual post-time favorite.
-
If there is a dead-heat for win, all horses involved
in the dead-heat are considered winners.
-
If a horse is part of an entry or mutuel field, the
entrant gets only the horse selected.
Note – This is an online
contest. No selections will be made by phone or via email.
